PUT AN END TO THE DISPUTE AND THE WARS BETWEEN PEOPLE!
The great magician Ziterion had had enough! No matter to which world and in which era he travelled, he came upon envy, false pride and vainglory everywhere. No matter which of the countless peoples he visited – whether simple hunter-gatherers or advanced astronauts – he always encountered the strangely certain conviction that these very people were the cleverest, most significant and strongest of all. On the basis of his observations, Ziterion was sure that this erroneous belief caused strife and often even wars throughout the centuries. Thus, he decided to put together a team made up of all the peoples of the worlds known to him in order to stage a tournament.
THE TOURNAMENT HALL
Countless years ago, he had already discovered a place that was home to ancient magic and therefore seemed predestined for his plans. In the deep blackness of these vaults, he built mystical halls especially for this tournament, which he could always redesign and equip with obstacles as well as magic utensils.
To ensure equality of opportunity between the teams, he endowed all participants with the same magical ability to conjure up steps and walls. Each team should thus have the same number of resources available to them. He also put a spell on the peoples’ weapons, which gave them their deadly effect and made them comparable.
Ziterion designed his tournament arena in such a way that a special artefact was hidden in a central room, which was to be brought to the opponent’s starting room. In addition, he hid various utensils in the furniture around the arena, which offered the team extra magical possibilities. Then he had the teams compete against each other and awarded points for each victory to see which people are really the cleverest.
So, each of the countless peoples known to Ziterion despatched a team. These teams consisted of a leader, who carried a close-range weapon and who was capable of taking several hits. He was joined by three fighters – one with a close-range weapon, one with a staff weapon or long gun and, last but not least, a shooter with a long-range weapon.
